We collect your email address, your child's name or nickname, their age range, and their learning progress within the app. When a child uses Echo Mode (recitation practice), audio clips are processed by our secure speech pipeline to measure accuracy. These clips are automatically and permanently deleted within 30 days of recording - they are never stored long-term or shared.
We do not serve ads. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party for commercial purposes. We have no ad network SDKs embedded in the app. We do not run third-party trackers or advertising pixels. Children cannot open chat or message anyone - there is no social layer.
A parent or guardian must create the account and give verifiable consent before any child profile is created. We collect only the minimum data necessary for the educational service to function. You have the right to access, correct, and permanently erase your child's data at any time. We comply fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the children's provisions of GDPR.
Your data is used for three purposes only: to personalise your child's learning path, to generate the parent progress reports you see in your dashboard, and to improve the product through our own first-party, in-house analytics (see Analytics below). Your data is never used for advertising, profiling for third parties, or any purpose not listed here.
To understand how the app is used and to fix problems, we run our own first-party, in-house analytics - built and operated by the Deenyou team, not a third-party ad or tracking network. It records usage signals such as pages visited, approximate country, and device type, plus parent-account lifecycle events - account creation, sign-in, and sign-out, with their timestamps. Those account events include your parent-account email so we can support your account and understand usage. This data stays within our own systems: it is never linked to an advertising identifier, never used to follow you across other websites, and never sold or shared for commercial purposes. It concerns parent accounts only - children have no accounts and are never identified in analytics.
Noor Wall is an optional, one-way share wall where a child can post a short, structured card about a hadith they learned or a habit they are building. If you approve a post, other Deenyou families can see: your child's first name or nickname, their avatar emoji, their age band, and the approved post text - nothing else. No surname, email, photo, school, location, or contact detail ever appears. Every post must be approved by you, the child's own parent, before anyone else can see it, and all text passes an automated safety filter that blocks personal information, links, and unkind words. There is no messaging, no free-text comments, and no follower lists - other children can only react with two preset reactions. Every post has a report button. Every report goes to review by the child's parent and Deenyou admins, and a post is hidden automatically once more than one family reports it. You control Noor Wall access per child with a toggle in your parent dashboard.
You can export a full copy of your family's data, correct any inaccuracies, or request complete deletion at any time. Go to Controls → Data in your parent dashboard. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days. After that window, no personal data remains on our servers or backups.
